Hello! This is Anita Zeno, the new owner and innkeeper of the
Belmont Inn in the lovely, quaint, quintessentially New England,
town of Camden, Maine. Sherry and Bruce Cobb, who did so much to
make this inn the wonderful place it is today, have moved on to
greener pastures. Literally! They've purchased an old Maine
farmhouse nearby and will, I'm sure, do their usual careful and
loving restoration of a little piece of American history. Meanwhile,
I am getting settled into my new life here where I have felt at
home, truly at home, almost from the day I arrived.
I can't
write much now but soon I'll be able to add more to this page
including photos of my cat, Diglet, and me. As with the Cobbs' cats,
guest room doors will be kept firmly closed so that guests who are
allergic to cats can rest their heads in comfort. Some things will
change, I think that's inevitable with a change in ownership, but
much will stay the same. A generous breakfast and an old fashioned
afternoon tea will continue to be served daily, the gardens will
bloom profusely, and the porch will invite you to just sit and do
nothing more than watch the world go by or visit with old, or new,
friends.
Whether you are a return guest or someone who is new
to the Belmont Inn, I feel confident that you will enjoy your stay
here and take home with you memories that will put a smile on your
face for many years to come. I look forward to meeting each and
every one of you, my future guests!
